Here are a few of my zoo shots from Sunday. I love this lens. But it gets heavy after 6 hours.

The 70-300 VR is great lens for the price.

    Very nice
Especially for a zoo. Not easy to shoot in a zoo usually

Thanks Ron. I was using the 300 VR. Itis a great lens. Even for it's price. I have seen alot of great shots with the 70-300 VR. I would like to try it.

Thank Daniel. Both of those looked like they were posing for me.

Thanks for looking and commenting, Radz

It was a lot of fun. I have always used zooms at the zoo. With the big prime you have to do a lot of moving around to get shots. The zoo was very crowded. I was really surprised at how courteous people were. Most would stop and let me take my shots. I tried to be the same and stay out of the way as much as possible and not poke to many with the monopod.

Thanks, Doug. he was really hamming it up. I was using the monopole with the bogan 3232 head ( I think thats the No.) with the Sidekick attached to the QR.

  11. Looks like you had a good time. I'm glad you got a eagle picture (from closer than 1/2 mile away!).

Thanks Herb. We have got to get together. We live to close not too. I got the location of an eagle nest not more than 30 miles from us.

    Thanks Lowolf

We did Mason. The eagle shot was close, but I enjoyed shooting the one at Florence much more. It was kind of sad seeing this great bird in a cage. I'll bring us some waders to your place the next time. Then we can get closer. I know where one is close to home. Not as far from the road.

Thanks Igor. They were in a tropical birdhouse. Not the best lighting. But I was pleased with the results. I appreciate your comment.

  15. Wow great shots with the new lens. #1 is wonderful, reminds me of Clint Eastwood's movie.
