This is a combination of two images PP'd in Photomatrix, then a little work in Pshop CS3 (sharpening & contrast).

Very nice! How do the results and work flow of Photomatrix compare to HDR or more traditional layer mask approaches for blending multiple exposures in CS3?

Haven't tried HRD and layering in CS3, but two thumbs down in CS2.

Photomatix is very user friendly and ultimately gives you much more control.

Just my opinion, though!

Thanks, John.

Didn't think about posting it over on the Retouching thread.

I'll give it a try.

Any chance you might show us the two originals?

John, I was afraid that(after the fact), someone might ask that very question. Unfortunately going through 300 plus images will take some time. I will try down the road, but just getting back from a two week absence, means that I'm back in the barrel and, I guess fortunately, that is good thing!

Thanks, for asking.

BTW, I have some other stuff that I will be working on and will very definitely keep the specific images cataloged.

Okay, John. You win (Kind of) (G)

Any chance you might show us the two originals?

When challenged, I guess my stubbornness rises to the top.

While I can NOT guarantee that these two images are the exact ones that I used to get to my keeper, they are either them, or very close.
