    3D matrix metering

"Matrix metering will not produce desired results with autoexposure lock or exposure compensation, but is recommended in most other situations."

Why will it not produce results with exposure compensation? Was the D70 the same way?

    Paul,

I must have missed this, as I never noticed the difference with the D70. Matrix metering was never my favorite and used center weighted often. With the D2x I had been using matrix until I got the feel for the camera. I will do some testing to further understand this.
