MH-25 Charger & Battery

I have a spare EL-15 battery. Anyone have an opinion whether storing it in the MH-25 charger in my camera bag would be a problem - for example, slowly discharge the battery left in it?

Space is at a premium in my bag so this makes sense to me if the consensus is - no problem.

Nikon say this:

We do not recommend leaving the battery in the charger once is fully charged and that will only take 1 hour and 30 minutes.

Yes but that presumes the charger is plugged in.
