The terminal rubber part is the weak point on all Nikon cameras. This is the second I have had to replace, this time on the Nikon D800. Getting that part ??? only from China or USA is seems, not in the UK. Close inspection looked as if the same part for the Nikon D810 would fit, and it does good enough for protection, as shown below with broken part.
easy DIY job- remove the black restraint on the metal triangle- unclip the metal triangle (bit hard to do) from the fixed camera ring. Then this broken part can be slide over and off. replacing in reverse order
