I shot the home opener at PPL Park yesterday. I was so out of sorts yesterday, I had problem whit my creds when I go there, had some issues with my Mac when trying to transmit.
The shooting conditions were very hard strong sunlight and some really dark shadows all over the field which made for some interesting exposures. On top of that it was barley 40 degrees and windy which made for a cold game. OK enough whining I have been dying to get out of the gyms and shoot some outside stuff so I go my wish.
I set the cameras up to use auto ISO and ADL set to normal to help compensate for the sun/shadows. I am not very impressed with my outcome, I struggle when shooting soccer and these shots show it. I am hoping that by covering the team all season that I will get more into the flow of the game.
I shot with two cameras
#1 D300 with the 300 2.8 with 1.4 tele
#2 D3 with the 70-200

Hey Mike,

You did a nice job with the harsh conditions ... these are well exposed & you captured some peak action. At least you can shoot outside without getting frostbite!

Take care,

Hi Mike, some really strong images well captured in the conditions Fella!, I do however have reservations on a few:redface:.

#3 "backs",for me don't work!
#6 (5?),good capture of a tackle but a bit lost with no ball
#7 (6), a weak shot compared with others & too much space to the R
#8 (7), too much space between the players & the ball IMHO also "that leg"!

Look forward to more Footy (soccer). Kind regards Graham
