I traveled back down to central PA searching for elk this morning. Tough shooting; dark, cloudy, slight mist falling at times and very few elk moving. A couple bulls bugled right after sunrise, but things quieted down rather quickly. This bull was working down the edge of a field near a place called "Hicks Run". I shot through a bunch of timber from the other side of field, moving around to find a hole through the trees each time he moved a bit. 1. Checking me out in the distance.
