more lens "getting to know you" shots

These are not the world's most exciting shots by any stretch of the imagination but I'm liking the look and feel of the photos I'm getting from my new-to-me lens:

D300, 500 f4 VR, on tripod, VR off

Everyone in the DC area can blame the past 2 cloudy/rainy/windy weekends on me - the weekend weather has been less than optimal ever since I got the lens! Today I was able to get out in the yard for a little while. It was overcast but "bright". Maybe next weekend there will be a day in my favor!

Isn't that always the case when you get a new lens? You captured the sparrow nicely.

So you are the one responsible for this stretch bad whether! Just kidding you will enjoy that lens immensely. Like the pose in the first one.
