Very very nice!! I've always been interested in this. Care to explain the process for me?

The room has to be dark as possible
On a raised platform I set up the incense stick so it leans to a 45 degree angle. LED torch (as bright as you can get) set up under it to shine up through the smoke.
Remote flash set up behind and under the smoke at 45 degree angle towards smoke, set at 1/4 brightness (strength)
I use an external flash with a macro ring flash attached (macro flash used purely to trigger remote flash) external flash 45degree angle upwards.

PPE to adjust colour with HUE's and Saturation
You can use gels on your flash to alter colours as well

    Nikon D90
18-55 mm (set to approx 42mm)
    shutter 1/200sec
    app 4.8
    distance approx 600 - 700 mm
