Chinese built 2-8-2 (New Haven RR #3025) sits in the yard at Essex building steam in the early morning before a special trip. B&W conversion in Silver EFX.

Thanks, I'm trying different things than the standard RR 3/4 views, etc.

Nice job I like it. The 3/4 view is used to death. That fresh view really does this engine proud.

The only thing that would be better is if it were a vintage Baldwin or ALCO instead of a 1989 Chinese-built copy!! ;^)

I think if you use the Alco filter on the lens your dream may come true. I'm pretty sure the Baldwin filters are now made in China. ;-)

I have to give the Valley RR a lot of credit. They did a good job modifying the Chinese loco into a reasonable semblance of an old New Haven RR J1. They had to rebuild the cab anyway, so they gave it the arched windows and a few other touches. They spent alot of time and money finding and buying an original bell, whistle and headlamp as well as rebuilding the tender.
I wonder if B&H has that ALCO filter...bet it ain't cheap!
