It has been a tradition in our family for 30 years to devote Mother's Day to a hike to look for wildflowers since that is always my wife's preferred activity, especially at this time of year. The last few years it has been just she and I, but our daughter joined us this year.
We walked through the woods...
and the fields...
We saw May Apples...
Fading large-flowered trillium...
Wild geranium (with a guest)...
Wild mustard (also with a guest)...
But the real finds were the pink Lady's Slipper:
And especially the rare yellow Lady's Slipper:
I used only the 35/f2 and 70-300VR for all photos.
