Good eye! Yup, slightly desaturated overall, red sat bumped slightly, white balance shifted to the left a smidge. Light streaks amplified ever so slightly and applied a light Gaussian blur to them to give a slight glow effect around them.Lovely shot ... I like the atmosphere. Hard to explain, but your picture looks desaturated so that your reds can really shine.
Thanks for the tips! I had thought about cropping it but couldn’t get one to work for all the elements I wanted on a standard crop aspect. The clouds aren’t actually out of focus, it’s a byproduct of the 30 second exposure. They just weren’t moving fast enough to make as pronounced effect as I had hoped. I debated on putting on a 10 stop and doing an even longer exposure to get them to streak more like I wanted but it was cold and I was ready to go back to the heated truck haha. Thanks for the pointers, I’ll have to see if I can work on a crop like you suggested! This is a well thought out composition and nicely executed. The emphasis on the reds looks great to me. However the extreme OOF clouds at the top of the image are very distracting and incongruous with the rest of the sharp image. If it were mine, I would crop right above the star-burst lights on the rights, eliminating the sky except for the dark cloud.
A pano crop might just do the trick! To me, the clouds are technically OOF due to movement. That is obvious because the rest of the image is gloriously sharp, except for the tail lights of course! LOL! Turly, with cropping, I think this is a fine image! Thanks for the tips! I had thought about cropping it but couldn’t get one to work for all the elements I wanted on a standard crop aspect. I like the image and your processing! Just way too much distortion for me in the lighthouse. Straighten 'er up and I think it will be excellent! You don't need the chopped tree on the right anyway........View attachment 1649831One more for the landscape thread.
I agree 100% I love this sigma 14-24 but man I am terrible at correcting the distortion lol. I tried but it looked terrible haha.I like the image and your processing! True, I didn’t think about it like that. I’ll see what I can do! Thanks so much, I appreciate constructive feedback.A pano crop might just do the trick! I do love the clouds, but Karen's right. They can be a bit distracting. Another approach would be to make them less overwhelming by reducing contrast, making them more soft by adding negative clarity, etc.True, I didn’t think about it like that. I’ll see what I can do!
