Mottled Ducks

    Found this trio paddling around the salt marsh between the tides at mid-morning
     
  2. Hi Irene, cute picture of our little duck friends. If I am not mistaken they are female mallards.

    Nice, pastoral shot Irene. Reminds me that I need to get back down to the pond and shoot some of my friends there. :wink:
     
  4. Thanks Gordon and Frank. I was unsure about the ducks. The female mallard has the bright blue feathers under the wings but I couldn't see that on these ducks. That is why I thought they were the Motteled ducks.This salt water marsh is rather isolated and all the bird life is very shy, it is difficult to get close to them. It always amazes me how tame they are in city parks.
