Mr. D200/18-200VR Does Goes to Washington

Discussion in 'Wanderlust and Travel' started by jklofft, Apr 25, 2007.

  1. The family and I went to Washington DC this past weekend. I was on the fence on which lenses to bring and in the end decided to really push the 18-200 to see what it could do. I came away very impressed. To avoid issues and travel light (it was a family trip first and foremost), I shot everything handheld. In general, I’m a pretty steady, but got some sharp images at 1/3rd of a second and very usable ones even slower than that. I also brought my 28 f/1.4, but only used it one night. Anyway, here are a few. The whole set can be seen at my gallery here:

    NIKON D200    ---    90mm    f/5.6    1/320s    ISO 100

    NIKON D200    ---    62mm    f/16.0    1/40s    ISO 125

the 18-200 is the perfect travel lens isn't it?

i like the tulip pic as well and the elephant!
  4. I am going to DC end of June almost wish I still had my 18-200vr. For now I am planning to take my 17-35 and 70-200vr, the latter because we will be staying near the National Zoo.

    Great photos!
All you need now is some gold embossed lettering "Washington D.C" and they'll be postcards!
