Mt Rainier - A Crisp Morning!!

Discussion in 'Landscapes, Architecture, and Cityscapes' started by Minuteman3, Oct 13, 2018 at 9:53 PM.

  1. My wife and I drove up to Mt Rainier National Park this morning quite early, and enjoyed a couple of hours before the rush of people enjoying this very clear and sunny day. We first visited the iconic Reflection Lake and were well rewarded for bundling up and enjoying the crisp morning (about 38º F when we got there...)!!

My wife suggested that this visit be part of a "Four Seasons" set of images from this locale. I'll try, although I'm not sure if this area is even open in the winter/snow season. Spring/Summer access should be no problem!!

We also visited briefly at Paradise. Since it's already snowed a couple of times in the past couple of weeks, the "fall colors" were pretty muted already.

This guy swore he was tracking a mountain goat on the ridge in the distance. Although we didn't see the goat, my 24-105 probably would not have "found it" anyway!!

    Cheers!!

  5. Very nice group of images. I Like the 3rd one best for the foreground interest and placement of the mountain.

  8. I shot several sets on images to be merged into HDR on this visit. Some look better than others, as I prefer to not "over do" the HDR effect. This is one of the good ones ...

I must admit, I just printed this in 13x19, and it's going up on a wall!!

    Cheers!!
