thanks Louis... I can tell you even though it was august, I had a sweatshirt and a Down jacket on.. as it was windy and cold.

thank you Nick... it was a new technique a buddy told me to try and it works.. One 6 minute exposure for the foreground and then a standard shot for the Stars and then, blend the two layers and there you go.

Excellent HDR shot.

no HDR involved, sorry.. two exposures, one for the sky and one for the foreground. The foreground was a 6 minute exposure ISO 1000 @ F2.8. then the sky layer added to the foreground layer.

not really...I kinda stay in my little world with my photo buddies.. there is so much here in the PNW to shoot, it would take me years to hit them all, if I focused only on that...I am being more selective on what I shoot.. its more for me than anyone else.
