My 18-200 Came Home

Mid-May, that's when I sent off my beloved 18-200mm VR lens for repair. Some of you may recall that the front element fell out while I was having dinner in San Francisco (Cliff House). It hit the floor and chipped the glass.

They estimated $300 for parts and labor and a 2 week turn around. With parts, labor, tax, and shipping, it came back at $322.

I'm thinking they missed the mark just a tad on the turn-around time.

It smells a bit like glue. The thing focuses wide or long, it still creeps if you point down, but it seems to function. I'll get out in some light later to try some real shots with it.
