Yes, Steve and anyone else here doing street photography are light years ahead of me. There's a big problem with street photography where I live. The downtown area is virtually dead, devoid of shoppers, interesting street vendors, etc. All the shopping is done in huge enclosed malls, or the big open one at Bridge Street. They all have security cameras and security personnel that police the area. Any camera that is larger than a deck of cards will bring them out to tell you photographing people, structures, is not allowed. This goes for the public library and hospitals as well. So, I tried using a little Olympus XA2, zone focusing, that looks like a cell phone or blackberry in hand:

and the only thing going on downtown on a late Sunday afternoon were these
drummers and folk in Big Spring Park:

I like what you've captured here, Bill. Very interesting to me. I see Hulk Hogan playing drums in that last shot....... :)
LOL! Thanks, Alan!

I'd post more, but you probably don't have your Visine bottle uncapped. The guy in the first is a buddy and we're going kayaking
in Tennessee the end of this month. If you don't hear from me, we old farts
had a misadventure.

The fourth shot would get you thrown in jail in Texas!:biggrin:

Samuel
Really? Thanks, Samuel, here's an outtake, lol. I had just gotten on the
escalator and took this without changing the zone setting:

Great Call Alan!

Nice set, Bill. My fav is #5. I'm still a little inhibited about shooting people. It's scary what you said about inhibiting photographers.
Thanks, Dossy, yes, these malls seem to hold realm over their little fiefdoms
making it hard for amateur photogs like me.

Thanks again, folks!

Well, Vin, I'm told I don't look very approachable, maybe cuz I'm ugly.

Exactly right, using pure ascorbic acid crystals and Folgiers god-awful instant
coffee, plus Arm and Hammer's washing soda. Will be trying more of this, like
it.

Lovely set, Bill, in spite of your predicament. I enjoyed each of them. And I share your frustration with lack of street activity. Hard to shoot people when there aren't any!

You done good here, though!

Thanks, Doug, appreciate your stopping by! I'll be trying more of this kind of
thing with the little Oly XA2.
