My "Budget" 400mm f/4

Discussion in 'Lens Lust' started by MikeMcA², Aug 11, 2008.

  1. 200 f/2 with TC-20E. Not too shabby I guess, after a little AF-Fine Tune on the D300.

Nice shots. Looks like a nice sharp lens.

  3. Nice, Mike! Mind my asking what fine tune # you settled on?? My 1.4/1.7 were right
on the money, AF tweaks actually threw it off a bit. Just curious should I try the 2x
    anytime soon. Thx!

  4. Will, oddly the TC20E was best at 0 on my D300, while the 400 with the same TC took +20. In my case, the TC-17E and TC-14E took some "+" adjustment. I'll take a look at let you know.

nice shots. Did you have to ask them to hold still for a sec? ;)  I am kidding!

    The squirrel looks real nice.
