My last post i explained about my banding problem with 2 different D200`s. As there was clearly no point in swapping it again, i sent it to the experts to fix, Nikon.

I sent it on Monday and they have fixed my camera and i should have it back in the morning.

I did ask what they had done to it, i was told that they had re-calibrated the Imaging PCB. They also said that all D200`s are being repaired as a matter of priority.

I know there have been conflicting reports of fix`s for this issue, but it seems they either replace a circuit board (short term) or re-calibrate which i am led to believe is what Nikon Japan was recommending.

But i urge anyone who has the problem to just send there camera in and get it fixed.

Of course i wont tell if it is fixed till the morning but i will try and let everone know.

Cheers

The impression I get is that Nikon Japan would prefer that the cameras be recalibrated. But at the time the banding problems surfaced most of the service centers did not have the proper equipment to perform the recalibration, which is why the board replacement was performed on the first D200 samples sent in for repair.
