Last week in the amusement park my D70 took a real big splash when we were on one of those water gadgets. Here's a picture just before it:

I was quite surprised to see that nothing happened to the camera. She was as wet as me, and I was soaked in water.

(Not that I recommend you to do what I did - you never know.)

I have the camera now for nearly 1 1/2 years and never had the slightest problem.

Hmm I have done some pretty silly things with some of the p&s cameras I have, but I don't think I would take my D70 on a water ride ever.
    Glad yours was hurt.

    You are very lucky!!

I got drenched once on a slide at Universal City and don't doubt that if I had a camera it would have been history.

    This from 1996:

    Hi Ken,

Good to see you back. How is your health?

Yes, I know, I've been lucky. I planned on quickly putting it back into the small camera bag I had ready (it worked on the first water slide), but I was too late and it took the splash. Have been shooting hundreds of pictures since then and had no problem at all.
