Our next door neighbors daughter dog-sits for us after school, she's really great. She commented on all the parcels that have been arriving from B&H and other lovely stores and when I explained that photography was my new big hobby said that she would be happy to volunteer for photos which was great news as I wanted to try some fun stuff.

So she came over with a friend last week:

They specifically requested "something funky" so I tried a "bleach" Nik filter and they really like them.

Thanks for looking - any comments/critique most welcome - don't be shy now!

Thank you Steve. She is super-photogenic, I can see her becoming my part-time model, will have to probably increase her dog-sitting fees!

Thank you Donamari. I just bought the Nik filters after seeing some great uses in other people's postings, I'm working on my PP/PS skills but I love the ease of hitting one button for an action or filter (I know it's sort of cheating!!). The bleach bypass worked out really fun on these shots.

Here's another of my great subject (we were just about to wrap up and she's like "Ummm, can we get the corvette out and can I pretend to drive it? She just got her license but it's a stick shift) - I used the "glamour glow" filter this time:

    NIKON D300    ---    38mm    f/2.8    1/160s    ISO 200

I was hand holding my SB800 and think I may have blown out her face.

Last one - as a general rule I'm not a hug fan of selective color but thought it would be fun here:

  7. Very interesting! I like em! Hope you give her copies!
  8. Is that a CORVETTE? Such a lucky girl! I love #2 in the first post!!

Dianne - thanks! yes to copies - she is a keen scrapbooker so I've ordered a bunch in different sizes so she can chop them up

Shane - yes it is a corvette - mine not hers so I am the lucky one
  10. Sorry, I can't read, Leah. I was too excited looking at the picture. I love stick shift Corvettes...just wish I could drive one sometime :)
