Each year, I try to make a selection of my favorite 10 images. It's not always an easy process and I'm sure the selection would look different if I went through the same exercise tomorrow. But, it's kind of fun. This collection excludes the photos from my most recent trip to New Mexico.

Please feel free to share your 10 favorites...or even just your 1 favorite image of the year.

Here are mine...in no particular order:

One thing that I found interesting is that 2 of these 10 pictures were captured on the same day (#1 and #7) and that I initially had a third image from that day in this collection before I removed it in favor of another photograph!

Please share your favorite images as well...

Thanks,
Glenn

So far stunning pictures of the highest calibre

We're just a few hours away in my locality from the start of the New Year and I'm sure I won't be doing any more tabletop photography this year, so these are my favorites for 2019. I arbitrarily decided to select 12 photos because that's an average of one each month (I use my makeshift studio throughout the year). I also decided that the photos should represent all five of the year's primary subject categories: wine, food, guitars, transparent glass and day-to-day household objects.

@Mike - simply a superb selection!!!!! What a pleasure to see these images again!!!!! I marvel at your lighting and photographic skills. Flash and auxilliary lighting has always intimidated me. Give me wild animals any day - but flash never!! LOL!

Many thanks, Karen!

Give me wild animals any day - but flash never!!
I use flash only when I need to stop the action, which is rarely. Indeed, all of these photos required only continuous-light lamps. Ironically, my third flash unit just arrived yesterday that I bought from Andy (acnomad). That's because one of my flashes isn't dependable and even when it does work, well, even with tabletop photography ya never know when you're gonna need all three flashes firing at the same time.

Yowza! Happy New Year!

There are some great photos here!

Karen features some great locations...most of which I visited the year before. I really enjoy the composition and colors in #4.

Mike's set displays a mastery of lighting...and some very interesting compositions and subjects.

And Chris's collection shows a very creative eye...and some special moments. #6 is my favorite.

Keep them coming!

Here are my favourite 10 pictures. It was difficult to chose and I could easily have made a different choice.

This year was a year of change, as I shifted back towards Nikon, after some years with just M43. It was a case of changing photographic interests and the fact that FF became affordable for me with the drop in SH prices.

9 Paola Tagliaferro. A friend of my wife gave a concert. Another M43 shot. I like this format for concerts as it is silent and unobtrusive. I know FF would give be better IQ but
M43 seems more practical.

There are amazing photos in this thread. Its taking me some courage to post up - but I am working on shooting more in 2020. My annual image counts are down to less than 2k from 5 to 6k in early 10's. Here is to a happy new year!
