I haven't been posting in this forum for quite a while because of my busy schedules, and I could not believe I would capture a bird today.

I just arrived yesterday taking my boy to Stanford summer school. While we were doing registration in the park lot today, I suddenly saw something moving in a tree not far away, and gave me enough time to take a few photos. And I only had a 28-70 with me.

Lighting was not good and processing was no good with the notebook.

Thank you Benjamin. It's very difficult to get the processing right while on the road.

Welcome to the states Phil! Nice red tail.
Thank you Antony. It's my first sighting, and capture, and a Red Tail.

way to go Phil!
Thank you Dave. It's a surprised find for me.

That's a nice welcome!
Thank you David. It's sure a nice start, though I probably don't have time to do some real birding.

Nicely done. The red tail is our largest hawk I think.
Thank you Mike. It's really a big raptor, much bigger that I thought.

great shots phil especially considering
Thank you Randy. The longest lens I have with me now is the 80-400, which was in the hotel room when I saw it.
