Hi All,

Went to Slimbridge Wild Fowl Trust near to Gloucester. Met a fellow photographer and tried, then bought a Nikon 600 f4 mf. Only had my monopod so it was a very big learning curve for me. First time with a long lens and first time with manual focus.

This Is My Best Side

This is my favourite of the day. Will hopefully be even better when my Wimberley gimbal arrives.

Your thoughts are welcome.

Regards

This looks nice and sharp - but I expect you felt as if you were wrestling with an octopus. I certainly did when I started out with a proper long lens. I can reassure you that it gets easier with practice (as the actress said to the bishop ).

Hi All,

Thanks for your comments.

Gimbal should be here tomorrow along with the plate. So will be out over Easter weekend finding more unsuspecting birds to take pics of!

Regards

Chris
