I mentioned to my lovely friend Lauren earlier in the week how I was having a really hard time finding seniors to shoot. I'm really trying to expand into that type of work for my business but couldn't find any kids. Well anyways she mentioned that she wanted to get some head shots taken by me and said she could pass for 18. (She's 25) I took her up on it and we did the shoot this evening. My buddy Brian came to hang out and I took some of him too. Can either of them pass for a senior in HS? Also do the shots work as senior photos? We went to a location on Michigan State University campus that I had been eyeing for a long time. It's a really great spot. I'm really happy with the way these came out. It helps when you have a great looking outgoing TV reporter as your subject. Brian actually photographed better than I thought. I have a harder time with guys for some reason. Posing women is easy. Lemme know what you guys think at my first post with people over the age of 5. :)

  2. I love the location. My favorites are Nos. 2,4, and 5 of Lauren. I also really like the ones of Brian crouching down. These are very similar to the types of senior photos I've seen from my daughters' friends.

Hi Nate: Looked at the pictures before I read your narrative and thought "that looks like the TV 10 news lady". She really is quite pretty and #5 really sticks out for me. To answer your question about do they look 18: maybe not quite 18 but really close and the settings, posing and clothing would all work really well marketing to seniors. All really well done...

Thanks. I think I could get away using them in my portfolio. I don't really have much of a choice. The look is right I know that. If they're borderline I'm going to use a few.

Lauren is not 18, but she's close. Brian, he passes for 18. You sometimes have to do what you have to do, and the posing/location of these is good. Lauren has a better chance of passing for 18-ish if you back away from her a bit...tightly cropped shots put her squarely in her mid to late 20s, however.

Very nice. Color, clarity and composition are just awesome.

  8. Very nice, all of the above plus your use of lighting like in #2 & #3...

These are great images, a little contrasty but still great images. I am sorry but Lauren looks older then 18, but she still looks good.

Great images - I love the one with the green hood but the close-up nature of the shot reveals her to be over 18.

I hope this is what you do for a living.
If it´s not, you really need to change your occupation!
You clearly know what you are doing and only need to keep on doing it for some years to come!

Thanks for the compliments...you guys are too kind. Anyways I did a few more last night. I did my first "official" senior shoot yesterday and it went very well. I'll post some from that as soon as I edit some shots. Here's a few more I did from this shoot.
