My first studio portraits

  2. I think these are nice. I was curious as to why these were shot in landscape orientation but that format seems to work very well with your style, especially in the first image.

    I like these shots a lot for being your first studio portraits. As others have said, the landscape orientation is odd, but really works well, I like it.

    For my own curiosity, which lights, umbrellas (or soft boxes), etc. did you buy and what setup did you use for the lights? I am thinking about buying some lighting and back drops to set up in my garage to take pictures of my daughters... lord knows with what my wife spends getting their pictures taken the equipment will pay for itself!

  6. I have Alien Bees. I have a large soft box and 2 small umbrellas.

    Thanks for the comments guys. I will try and shoot it vertical next time then.
