My Furry Friend

Discussion in 'General Discussion' started by Taco, Aug 24, 2008.

  1. We've had a couple of cool nights and some trees are starting to yellow. That's my cue to start stacking firewood. I was working at the wood pile and kept getting hit in the head by pine cones. Didn't give it too much thought till it dawned on me there was no wind. Finally looked up and saw this squirrel throwing pine cones my way. I think it was deliberate! I yelled at him at he chattered back at me. Never encountered a squirrel with an attitude before........

  6. oh my, ted
    that 2nd one is hysterical

    thanks for making me smile
  7. You are definitely getting the "look"!
  8. Thanks for your replies everyone. I managed to scare him off without hurting him. I have a lot of respect for any animal that can survive a Manitoba winter. In the Sandilands provincial forest squirrels gather pine cones all summer and stuff them into hollowed out trees. Conservations officers harvest the cones for the seeds and replace them with peanuts in the shell. It's a fair exchange..........
