My Jersey Girl...Osprey!

Discussion in 'Birds' started by Anthony747, Jul 3, 2005.

  1. Hi All! Here are some shots from my secret osprey nest taken this morning. She’s very aggressive and hates my guts. Its really amazing hearing the whoosh sound as she fly’s by me trying to take my head off.

    Thanks for looking! Anthony

  2. Man, Anthony! You aren't kidding. The look she's giving you in #2 and #5 you can tell she means business. Great captures!!
  3. Wow, great job Anthony!!! I can see why you keep it a secret spot. You must be pretty close for these.
  4. Hi Kevin! Yes, she means business! I only stay for about 10-15 minute because she constantly circle's and fly by me until I leave.

  5. Hi James, The nest is only about 50 feet away and about 30 feet high.

Here's a shot of the nest.

Very nice series Anthony. These are truly magnificent animals. I've never seen this kind of aggressive behavior before though. I need to go back and look at some of the shots that I got at Blackpoint in Feb.

    Thanks for sharing.
  7. Hi Frank! This osprey is very aggressive and will not stop until I leave.

    Excellent work
What a set of eyes and claws
  9. I too like #1 and #5, but #5 is my favorite very very nice composition
  10. Beautiful series! That's one nasty, mean look on her face. Nice to see she's cleared up all the local spare rope & string! *LOL*

You've really captured her well. Hopefully you'll get some great shots of the babies too. Cheers, S
  11. Some cool captures, looks like the light was pretty harsh.............

  12. WOW Very nice being a fellow New Jersian guess that doesnt qualify me for the loation fo this nest....
  13. Anthony,

Great series! If birds could swear, there'd be some pretty foul language coming out in #5. :)  :)

    Thanks for sharing.

I wouldn't take it personally, I think she is just protecting her nest and doesn't know you don't mean her or it any harm.
  16. Baywing, With all due respect...I know.
