It's pretty sad when you get to the age where you lust after glass instead of flesh. :?.

Here's my wish list, in no particular order.

28-70mm f/2.8
300mm f/4 + Nikon 1.4x tc
85mm f/1.4
SC29 sync cord
2 DF200 slave flashes
3 light stands

That's about $3-4000 worth of gear at discount prices... about 3x my annual hobby budget. I better start selling some pictures, or I'll be a frustrated luster.

Oh gawddddd, I'm starting to worry as well. I think I still prefer lusting after wobbly, fleshy bits on people of the female persuasion rather than lenses, but it's becoming a close-run thing.

As for a wish list, well it runs like this (again in no particular order):

300mm f/2.8 - for sports

70-200mm VR - for sports

1.4 TC - for everything

600mm f/4 OR the Sigma 300-800mm Zoom thingy - for birds

85 f/1.4 - just because everyone says it's so good.

A macro lens of some kind.

Those are just the lenses - then there's the tripod and ball head, the flash, the digital wallet, more CF cards, the remote release, the D2X.

mmmmmmmmmmMMMMMMMMMMM D2X.

You people are scaring me, I'm starting to think I have landed in "The Twilight Zone"....

I'm still trying to figure out why Neil and Clive want to photograph old fat guys with their shirts off. Must be that Brit/Oz connection or something.......

(running like mad afraid of what might be coming back this direction)

Oh, yeah, to keep "on topic"...

A D2X, to make my 500mm ever so much the better

There's a 300mm f/2.8 for sale over at the Nikonians. It's been reduced. Here's the link.

http://www.nikonians.org/dcforum/DCForumID23/3739.html

Come on Neil you REALLY NEED it! And it's only $2879.00. A Mere pittance.

Rich
LALALALALALALALALALALALALALALA....I can't hear you....LALALALALALALALALA

Besides it was a wish list which unfortunately bears zero resemblance to financial reality. I'll have to make do with the Sigma 80-400mm OS for quite a while yet.

Geezz though that price is tempting........... NO!.... BAD BRAIN!!

Now see what you've done Rich, you've made me prove I'm insane. There may have still been one or two lost souls here in Nikon Cafe who I had fooled, but no more. :D

Seriously though, thanks for the link, but it really is a shame I can't afford it at the moment.

Cool. Why don't you buy it, and sell me that 300/4 you picked up
Sheesh! I haven't even gotten it yet. I have the 70-200VR and the TC2E and want the 300 for the occasional long shot. Don't worry, if it doesn't meet my neds I'll be the first to let you know.
