My visit with a burrowing owl

Hi all. We went on a little visit to Ft Myers and so one of the mornings I took a little drive to Cape Coral. These birds are wonderful to watch:smile: . Thought you might like to see.

He/she started to come out of the burrow and preen a bit.

He came all of the way out and shoved out his chest, looking around.

Then he turned around and looked straight at me. What a look:biggrin:

Thanks Paul:smile: . I never knew until recently, getting back into photography, that there was such a creature. Even better that they are in my back yard, so to speak.

Thanks to all:smile: . The only thing is that they are not in a very attractive environment and they have put orange and yellow plastic ribbon around their burrow area to keep people from walking to close to them. The ribbon also points out the burrows but makes it difficult to get a good shot .
