I only had about an hour and a half to be outside and use this lens before the storms hit.

First impressions

Look and Feel:
Similar to the Z 35mm f/1.8 in every respect. I'll probably need to do a double take from time to time to make sure I grab the right one.
Feels solid, shoots solid in the hand. I think it is a good size and weight.

Focusing:
Always seemed positive in the daylight. Not the fastest lens from near to far focus as far as speed goes. Focus accuracy is spot on.

Image Quality:
Hands down, the sharpest prime lens I've ever used. Even at f/1.8, it does the job better than anything I've owned or used.

Don't want to take my word for it....here are some sample images with 100% crops for your review.
Post processing was my normal stuff. A little exposure and some basic sharpening. Other than that, SOOC JPG files.

Full Image - focus was on the teeth of the skeleton.

Finally - just A 100% crop at f/1.8. Had a little trouble with this one as the wind started to whip about a little, and well...shooting at f/1.8....

Things are starting to pick up again for jobs, finally. Got a portrait shoot scheduled for Aug 8. Anyone want to guess the #1 lens I’ll be using for that? Lol. I’ll be taking the Z 50mm and the adapted f-mount 85/1.8G

Excellent demonstration.

Momma got me one last Xmas. It truly is terrific. As a wildlife guy, I don't use mine as much as I should. I need to force myself to "enjoy it" more. Thanks for the perfect reminder! :)
