I noticed the other day that there is a spell / grammar checker suddenly working on my computer any time I have a text box open (online forums, facebook etc). Does anyone know if this was part of a recent windows update? If it wasn't then I must have accidently clicked something in window setup.

This is nothing to do with Windows.
Sounds like a browser addon? Which browser do you use?
Sounds like the Internet Explorer 10 spell checker to me.
I think you're right. I didn't even notice that I accepted an upgrade to IE 10.

I noticed it does NOT work in title bars. And only within the browser environment. I welcome it actually, but will turn off the update option for now. I see the toggle box in the "About IE" menu.

But one doesn't type into title bars.

I do not recommend turning off the browser updates. They are mostly security updates and are for your protection. Browser vulnerabilities often need urgent patching. Microsoft spend a lot of money and resource to provide them for you, you paid for the service when you bought Windows.
