Nikon 1V3 on Nikon 1 70-300mm lens and Movo EXT-NM47 close up tubes. Lens at 300mm. With the 21mm tube it will focus from about 3 feet to 18 feet and with the 21mm tube plus the 16mm tube if will focus from about 2 1/2 feet to 11 feet. Images are not cropped. The tubes do a good job of isolating the subjects from the backgrounds. Photos from my garden.

those are really nice Jerry. I've been thinking about getting some tubes, but haven't decided which ones.
I had a set of the Vello two tube set which were plastic and broke both of them. The Movo tubes are aluminum and is a three tube set. The tubes also work well on the 30-110 mm lens with a reasonable working distance.

Very nice, Jerry. I have just purchased a set of the Vello tubes but I am glad to hear of the Movo tubes in case.

Jerry is the tube body metal or just the mount? I have a set of FOGTA tubes that are metal mount with plastic bodies.

Nice serie, Jerry !

On tripod, I guess ? ...and what is the shooting distance ?

:)
They were shot on a tripod with flash at about 3 feet. You can get good images at 6 feet for the shy critters. Here is a shot of a tiny Mabel Orchard Spider with all three of the tubes 10, 16 and 21 mm at about 26 inches:

Wow Jerry ! These really are fantastically sharp macros, with a much deeper DOF than what we can get with a FX (or even DX) camera !

I' m really impressed by the quality of these images ! .....but of course, as usual, the quality of the photographer is for a good percentage in the result !

Got my tubes today. Put the 16 mm on the 70-300 and tried it out. I like them.

Careful Rick... the internet pundits say you can't make photos this good with a small sensor camera like Nikon 1. Maybe you didn't get the memo. ;)
