Nashville 4th of July Fireworks show! (new pictures added!)

Discussion in 'Night, InfraRed, and UltraViolet Photography' started by JohnC, Jul 5, 2007.

  1. Here is my first ever fireworks shots with the D80 and 18-135mm lens. I know they're not as good as you pro's can do, but I thought these were decent enough to post here.

    WOW! Great job!

  3. I have a screen here that is real dark, so I didn't try any editing; I only resized them in PP.

On a scale of 1-10, how are they?

  4. The show was 30mins long and I made 182 shots. A few are duds, but more turned out good than I thought. If I had been on the other side of the river, I'd have got far better shots. There were fireworks going off down low along the river that I couldn't get from where i was located. :/

  7. Thanks to both of you.

  8. Nice going John. I love 2 and the last one. What settings did you end up using? Ours were canceled due to bad weather so I didn't get the chance to try out the suggestions here.

    Very nicely done indeed!!

  13. Manual mode, shutter at 3sec at F/10, ISO 100, lens at 18mm, and on a tripod. I didn't have one of those remotes so it was all my finger and trying to keep the timing right. :)

EXIF on #2 shot. That pretty much sums up the settings.

These are so good, I'm NOT posting mine!

    Great Job.

  16. Thanks, Sam!

Post them anyway and don't delete any of them. Most people can help you edit and adjust them in photo software to fix any problems.
