Hopefully it's okay if I post this here. I have been doing a 52 week challenge this year and it has sparked some of my best creativity ever. Have been very happy I decided to do it. I will post a few pictures at a time to play catchup as I have already done the first 26 weeks.

As for the theme, it is a different topic selected each week and my goal is to try and be creative and think outside the box for each topic (or try a technique I haven't used before).

Nate!!!!! :D

I haven't 'seen' you in quite awhile - welcome!!! Hope you and the family are well, and is that your son in #3?? He's grown soooo quickly, and what a cutie!

Your images are stellar. You've always been creative with your critter images, but these are so unique and special. #1 is off the chain; how in the world did you do that??

Thank you both. Lyndee - that is our oldest son in #3. He's about to turn 8 which is crazy. We have another boy (5) and a 1 year old girl too. They will both make appearances in here as well.

For #1, I set up a white bed sheet hanging from our basement ceiling. Camera was on a tripod with a timer and the flash was in commander mode. I had the SB-600 set to fire on the white sheet and I stood in front of the sheet (and in front of the flash). Camera exposure set to have me completely dark and only expose the flash portion. I set the camera to fire 5 shots at a time with 2 seconds between each shot. Took a bit of trial and error to get myself framed and posed right in the shot.

I did have to edit the white brighter and darken the blacks. Mainly by + on highlights and - on shadows in lightroom. It was a fun shot to get as I'd never tried anything like that before.

Awesome! I don't even know where to start! Your babies are just beautiful, and your daughter's eyes are so compelling. Then there's your macro work - excellent. I am really going to enjoy this thread!

Wonderful. Just wonderful, Nate! I love the 'Bug', and the 'Leading Line's' photo is splendid. Finally, you always had a way with critters, and this is just another example of your fine photography!

Thanks for the nice comments. Framed and Routines are actually cell phone shots as I was struggling for time those two weeks. Glad you still enjoyed them.

Weeks 17 and 18 I posted in the macro section before thinking about starting this thread. Apologies if you've seen them already in there.

Week 17 - Nature and Motion (the challenge was to combine 2 of the previous challenges)

Week 19 - Emotion
This photo came out really cool, but it was of one of my 5th grade photo club kids during our field trip and I don't feel comfortable posting it for confidentiality reasons.
