Lots of beautiful aircraft, grass runways, and a fun morning.

Very cool. I love the older biplanes. Thanks for sharing!
Great captures, thanks for sharing!
Beautiful!

I got to fly in one (Great Lakes 2T) yesterday (posted in another thread).
beautiful venue- nice hardware. Stunning pics. I like the prop blur.
Thanks for sharing
Nice photos.
Well . . .

thanks everyone for having a look. All of these could have been a heck of a lot better. I had the luxury of (mostly failed -) shooting last summer's Chicago Airshow's Friday practice with eng45ine (Frank; one of the Café's many experts on airplane photography), who gave me guidelines about prop blur, even if I scrambled to try and dial those in.

Wade and others have a bunch of useful guidelines here.

Excellent shots Eric. Love the sounds of those radials.
No kidding, Ron - they are "loud and proud". So many Stearmans, but not so many in the air when I was there.

NIce set. Do you know what type of plane the blue and yellow in the second shot is?
I sure don't know, Tom - there were many experimental planes on the ground, and perhaps that is one?
