Nature's Not so Nice Way...

Earlier today, some aggressively feeding 4 week old Snowy Egrets knocked a sibling out of the nest. An 8 foot gator grabbed it in less than a second. Not pretty but it happens.

Nice capture Bobby, when we were at the alligator farm earlier in May the gators all were under the trees in the mangrove waiting for a misstep from above. Fortunately we didn't see any accidents at the time but with the number of fledgling would not be surprised.

Thanks...this time of year there are more such incidents since the chicks are bigger, making the nests more crowded, and they're more mobile but still not stable. 2-3 per day that we see and more at night I'm sure.

at your age you may not be fast enough to make the changes on the fly:smile: but hey your hat fits
