NEF files on MacOS

A few weeks ago, I upgraded to Mojave. A few days ago, I installed FastRawViewer. Today, I noticed that NEF files from the Z6 thumbnails are now visible (they weren't before) and Preview can render NEF files from the Z6 as well. NEF files from Nikon DSLRs have been visible both as thumbnails and in Preview all along, but the capability to view Z6 images is new. Does anyone know if Mojave supports the Z6 files, or does credit belong to FastRawViewer?

Is anyone running Mojave without FastRawViewer or some other third party application able to view NEF files as thumbnails in Finder and larger in Preview?

Yes it is Mojave. I'm not running FastRawViewer.
