New beauty dish SP test

Just got a 22inch beauty dish and wanted to test it out before I shot some formal portraits this evening for my daughter's prom.

I will likely shoot outdoors in some pretty bright light and wanted to control my fill with the BD. I used a vari-ND filter here to shoot wider open in the bright sun. Any suggestions on using the BD for couples or should I just use an umbrella?

what beauty dish did you get..... your self shot looks great. the lighting looks even and well diffused..... i cant vouch for the BD on couplkes, only used on on single models but I am interested to see how it goes

I would use whatever gives the most power for competing with bright light.
The harsher the light you are competing with the less you have to worry about diffusing your flash.
