New D700 sample shots ISO 100 - ISO 25k

I think the ISO 200 and ISO 400 images look promising. I'm not quite yet convinced about the ISO 100 and ISO 800 ones. Perhaps the sweet spot lies somewhere between ISO 160 and ISO 320.

On a serious note…for now, I do need the extra “reach” of the D300 to use on the 500 F4, and I really can’t see myself letting the D2Hs go (would also loose too much money and it’s worth much more than I’d be able to sell it )….kitting myself with low-light lenses has also been very, very expensive so I’ll have to pass the D700…for now…until then I’ll probably sell the 50 F1.2 AIS and sell more surf photos to finance an FX camera.

The ISO 200 shot of the bunny and colour chart is out of focus, which doesn't help the comparison. The noise/grain in the 6400 shot isn't too objectionable.

The D300 is a world apart from my D80....this sucks and rocks at the same time.
