New Nature Preserve

  1. I was saddened to read of HarryB's wetlands being "developed". Fortunately, in my town we have a new nature preserve. This preserve was purchased by the city and now has a boardwalk around some of the water accessible areas. Much of the preserve has small trails through the woodlands.

    I was pleasantly surprised when I took my new D2Xs out there for a spin yesterday. All of these were shot with only the 70-200mm VR. I need to go back there with a longer lens.

    The spoonbills were skittish

    Rabbits were everywhere

    New families were trying out the water

    Under watchful eyes...

    An osprey nest is there with 3 babies! Dad searching for lunch.

    Something must have caught his eye

    I made a new friend on the boardwalk.

    What a great place to shoot and you have made the utmost of it. Every image a beauty. I am soooo jealous of you Floridians(besides my living in snow country).
  9. WOW! Can't decide which I like the best - the Mom and her babies swimming brought out an "awwww!" Guess I have to say every photo is just goergeous! Now get back out there with that big bad camera and get some more! :tongue: :biggrin:

    The best part of this place is that it is a short bike ride from my house!
