New to Avian Photography

  1. I've been a member since the cafe started but my work has always been commercial photography and some wildlife photography. In the past I was not much into bird photography, but moving to Central Florida has changed that. I now live in an area
that is surrounded by wetlands and preserves.... so I figured if you cant beat them, join them.
Here are some images taken while on my early morning hikes.

Wonderful shots, but trust me, don't take your location for granted. Enjoy your time birding down there. Here in the midwest we have to work with tons of seat time for any good bird photo op.

And your usual pro level work shows through just fine on these images, excellent shots.

These are really outstanding! Didn't you have a bobcat image years ago?

  4. Yes Karen, I have photographed wildlife extensively but up until the last 6 months I rarely ever photographed birds.
    wow, you still remember... :)

  5. Wade, thank you for the kind words... I can truly say that I am enjoying going out and shooting the birds...
It is much more challenging than I ever thought.

  13. Great photos. I'm impressed with #1. The angle you got on that shot is excellent. The few times I've been able to spot a bald eagle has left me in the position where I am shooting up at the bird.

  14. Phil, Louie and Randy thank you.
Mitch, I was able to get the shot because it was perched on a low branch. I patiently waited for it to take flight and since the wind was pretty strong going towards me, I figured it would do a close fly by. As luck would have it, that is exactly what it did.
