I recently visited the New York State Capitol in Albany. Here are some pictures from the trip:

Nice series Glenn! Clearly the capitol building is the highlight of Albany! :) When I was a kid growing up in Pittsfield, MA, my mother and her friends used to got to Albany for shopping, as it was a real destination city... (1957)

Thanks! This was my first visit to Albany. I didn't know about the Empire Plaza before the visit...and that provided more photo opportunities.

Does anyone work there??

Another fantastic series, Glenn!

Thanks Lyndee...there weren't many people working there on Friday, July 5th. With the holiday the day before and the weekend approaching (and Congress out of session)...the building was practically empty.

Great shots Glenn! How are you able to get your shots without people in them?

Thanks Anthony...one key is to go in the summer. Another is to simply wait for the room to clear (which takes some patience). If there is just a straggler or two, I take care of them in Photoshop.

Glenn - As I've said previously - You DO get around!

The NY State Capitol Building has absolutely never looked better! Really stunning imagery.

Awesome set, Glen. I hope to get up there this fall as well a Vermont and New Hampshire.

Thanks Ken...

I will have to take a trip to the Northeast to visit several of the buildings within a reasonable range of miles. I've been to some of the more remote ones--Montana, North Dakota, Wyoming, etc. So, it should start getting easier as time goes on.
