You'll remember that three weeks ago I hired three NikonCafe photographers to shoot a photo assignment for the newspaper where I'm Director of Photography. Well, the story and photos were published in this past Sunday's paper with great results: Davidzvi ended up with the cover shot and Tyrone Anderson (Tommerifc) also had a shot on the inside pages. One other NC photog was stiffed by the subject and so we ended up with only 2 of the 3 people photographed. (Hey, it happens to the best of us.)

    Here is the front page:

Thanks to all who stepped forward and to those who wanted to participate and gave their input. To David and Tyrone: Thanks guys - the checks are in the mail and four copies of that day's newspaper have been FedExed to your homes. You did great and I'd certainly recommend you to anyone who asks.

I hope to try this again real soon.

  2. Thanks so much for posting the feedback on this venture John!
I think this is way cool and I'm sure that David and Ty had a great time with this experience. I hope they will share their experience here.
Too bad the 3rd did not happen.

  3. VERY nice!!! The cover shot is terrific, as is the inside spread. Congrats to David and Tyrone!

Congrats to everyone on this project. I have to say it was pretty cool reading the paper and knowing where the photos came from.

BTW - John, what happened to the photo guru blog on the record's website ? I'm not seeing it on the main page anymore. Is it still on the site ?

  12. win win win, what a great thing!

  13. Way to go David and Tyrone! Complements to John on his choice of stringers.
