Night IR Image

Discussion in 'Night, InfraRed, and UltraViolet Photography' started by greyflash, Apr 11, 2007.

  1. This image was taken well after the sun had gone down (around 10 PM) and no details were visable in the mountains or the trees. There were some light streaks in the sky but for the most part the sky was dark. Taken with my modified D100 with 18-70mm lens. I was quite surprised by the amount of detail that was visable in the image.

    Impressive Gordon!

I guess this is the reason why so many survaillance cam's use IR....
  3. You are probably right about the surveillance cameras, I had never thought of that when I started shooting IR. I just tried this shot on a lark to see what it would record. I shot this at a high ISO (1250) and was also pleasantly surprised by the low amount of noise visable as well. Interesting.
