I just realised I haven't shown off the lens with the replacement foot.

Not only is it longer than the OEM foot, but it feels safer to when carrying it via the foot

I was hiding in the willows waiting for this Harlequin couple to swim by. At one point they got closer than the minimum focus distance. This is the last shot I got before the lens wouldn't focus anymore.

Yesterday it was overcast and quite dark as the rain wasn't too far away.

I called past one of the local lakes/reserves to try and locate a group of Swift Parrots which have currently made their home there.

They usually stay high up in the trees which makes getting any decent photos somewhat difficult.

Some info of the birds copied from this site

Swift Parrots breed only in Tasmania and then fly across Bass Strait to forage on the flowering eucalypts in open box–ironbark forests of the Australian mainland. While on the mainland, they are nomadic, spending weeks or months at some sites and only a few hours at others, determined by the supply of nectar. During dry years, when the eucalypts’ flowering is poor, Swift Parrots are forced to travel far and wide to find sufficient food, and may congregate into large flocks at sites where it is available.

I'll try and get back next week when there is better forecasted weather

Here are a few of the snaps I managed to get
