Has anyone seen or done a comparison between these 2 lenses to measure their performance in terms of image quality at f/1.4?

I know, I know, the Sigma is no where close to the look and feel of the Nikkor but leave the look+feel and the longevity alone for a while ... I am more interested in the image quality in terms of resolution.

Anyone?

Ryan Brenizer is a photographer who practically only uses a 85/1.4 lens. In his review he states that the Nikon has slightly better optics, but that the AF on the Sigma is better (and it's half the cost of the Nikon). After leaving his Nikon 85/1.4 in a taxi (ouch) he was more than happy to use the Sigma as its replacement.

So that would seem to say that the sigma is definitely better than the 85 1.4 AF-D IF then right? I wonder.... I need to get my hands on one!

Thanks for your responses, guys. The threads in FM is interesting but there are no sample images.

I am getting all confused because so far, the images I have seen from all 3 85mm lenses (Zeiss, Sigma and Nikkor) are kinda soft when shot wide opened. That was the reason why I sold my old Nikkor 85mm/1.4 AFD.

It doesn't seem like the 85mm/1.4G has improved much in IQ compared to the 85mm/1.4AFD. Not sure if I should commit so much money on it ...
