Made the mistake of selling this lens last year and I really regretted it, was finally able to pick up another one yesterday. I was so lucky to find someone locally selling a 3 year old copy for such a low price I almost felt guilty...Almost :)
Have not had a chance to test yet accept for a quick snap...

Dave, just look at that shot you posted above. How could you sell such a great lens  Congrats by the way

Thanks, I sold it along with a mint 20-35 2.8 with the idea of getting the 24-70 to replace them then the money needed to go elsewhere :( But never because I didn't love it! lol

Great lens. I've owned (and sold) my first and second copies and sometimes I miss it. Third luck's the charm, right?

A bit at the rim of this theme:

I´ve seen that some of these AF85/1.4 have a kinda "low key" or "flush" surface-finishing
whereas others are much more roughened.
Who can tell details?

@Dave: excellent shot, that´s what I bought my 85/1.4 for: bokeh + sharp foreground. Congrats!!

I have an 85f/1.8, but there are times that I wish I had the 1.4. I'll probably end up buying one, not because it fills a need, but because I just like playing around with new stuff.

Dave,

Don't let go of it any more, for your own sake :)

Thanks, I think I will this time!

Great shots. Glad you were able to get another!

Saving myself for this one! Wonder how well it'd work on a D90.
