I have the sigma. How does it compare to the AIS Nikon? The AIS is said to be clasic portrait lens. Would it perform better for portraits than the Sigma Macro?

How is the manual focussing on a D1H/D2H or a D200 without a new focussing screen?

I am thinking of buying a the AIS for outdoor portraits..but worried about focussing...(I am used to AF).

Also how does the AIS compare to the 105 DC?

The price difference is a lot...

  3. Focusing isn't a big deal with portraits because your subject isn't moving around very much and there is that focus verification dot in the viewfinder.

  4. The 105/2.5 is a good lens, but you don't really need it if you already have a sharp 105mm. Your Sigma should fare just fine for portraiture.

    Hmmm...

Since I already have the Sigma 105, may be the 135 DC?

    Pure LLD.
